Madison Reads 2 books

Here are 2 videos of Madison taken this evening of her reading 2 short books. For her this is a really really big deal. I am so proud of her. She is also learning to read with the help of a awesome program called Headsprout. I used this program when I was teaching in the New Caney school system and tutoring kids unable to read. I was able to watch a 2nd grade NON-English speaking child go from NON-English reading to Reading English in about 6 months. Pretty Awesome! Madison started this program on Sunday and is on Lesson 7 now. She LOVES the program. Here are the videos:

Madison Reads her Letters/Letter Sounds/Sight Words

Made this video to let the teacher and principal know that Madison is capable of reading her sight words and that she knows her letters and letter sounds. She is a stubborn kid and gets bored, so yes, I may sound a bit mean at times, but I have to push her b/c I know my child and I know what she is capable of and I also know how much she as learned in the first 5 years of her life. Here she is: Madison Shaw Reading

Testing NEW Conversion Software, Hows the Video!?!?!

This is the SAME video I posted below several days ago. What do you think? Quality, sound, overall, do you think its better? I do! Can't wait to get all my DVDs copied and converted and loaded on the Blog so all our family and friends far away can see our babies!! The new Videos will NOT have the watermark image of Evaluation Copy. That is only b/c I downloaded a TRIAL version of the software and after we purchase it the watermark will be removed. I'm so EXCITED about this as I have wanted to share some special memories with all of you for such a long time. Madison's first steps, Xmas programs from Preschool, and just fun stuff.

Madison's Bus Ride Video

Well, I'm bummed.... My video of Madison's 1st Bus Ride file is corrupt and unable to remove from disk. I've LOST my precious file. The excitement and amazement of that first experience will forever be burned in my memory, however, I will be unable to share the video with you. Only the experience in words. As the bus pulled toward the house I could see Madison's little face and hands pressed against the window looking out at me. She had the biggest smile I had ever seen. Waving and waving at me. The bus stopped and she continues to sit and wave. I start laughing b/c I know that she needs to get moving and head to the door. So she is so tiny compared to the giant steps she must go down. As she holds on to the rail with both hands she slowly steps down. And as soon as she touches the driveway with her feet, she turns around and waves really big to her bus driver, Mr. Ted. "Bye!" she tells him. Then she watches in amazement as the bus pulls away down the street. She turns around and I ask her, "So did you like riding the bus?" and her response, "Yes, I want to ride the bus again tomorrow! and It goes really fast!" Well, I don't know that I like the fact that it goes really fast. But I told her as long as I do not have to pick Izzy up from school she can ride the bus home. So I being a Mom and wanting to have my girls on video to share with friends and family had to video the 2nd bus ride so everyone can see. This time I had Izzy in my arms so a steady hand is not so on this clip. Enjoy! I just love watching these experiences again and again. They never get old to me.

Madison's First Bus Ride

Ok, so yesterday was the 2nd day of Kindergarten. Much more fun and exciting things to be learned. You would think that after spending ALL day away from home she would be happy to see me. But, when I picked her up from school yesterday, Madison was in tears. She was crying and very very upset. I asked her what happened and she said,"I wanted to ride the bus home Mommy and my teacher wouldn't let me." Well, actually, Ms. San Marco was doing exactly what I had asked her to do. Holding her with the group of car riders b/c I was planning on picking her up all week from school. That changed today. Today was Madison's FIRST ever School Bus ride. She was SO very excited to go to school today b/c she knew at the end of the day she would be riding the bus home. So I had to capture this on video, her amazed and happy little face as she carefully stepped down the steps of the big bus. Here is the video, and YES, we get FRONT DOOR service with our bus stop!

I'm having difficulties with my camera, I hope I didn't corrupt the video file!!! Very upset right now!!!

Madison's First Day of School in Kindergarten

This first photo is from Meet the Teacher day at Greentree Gatorfest. Madison is wearing a blue shirt on the right hand side of photo. Her teacher, Ms. San Marcos, is on left wearing a Green Greentree shirt. These are all her classmates too.

These are first day of school photos. My camera is messed up and I don't know what happened to the settings b/c the photos seem really blurry. Not to happy about that.

Here she is hugging Alli the Alligator! She is now a Greentree Gator!!

Madison is OFFICIALLY a Kindergarten student at Greentree Elementary in Humble ISD. It is an AWESOME school, rated EXEMPLARY multiple times. The PTA is super organized, the Teaching staff is well trained and Madison LOVES her new school. She also LOVES her new teacher, Ms. San Marcos. Here are a few photos/videos of her special moments on this BIG day.

Old Home Video

So I've been trying for a really LONG time to figure out how to post old home video from my camcorder to my blog. Well, this is my attempt to get it on here. I sure hope it works. These are video clips of Madison from 2005. She is only a year and a half old in these clips. Sorry about the quality. But at least you can view them and I'm able to share them.
