Madison's Birthday

Madison turns 4 today. And she had a wonderful birthday party. She received a Twinn doll that looks just like her and named her Ryleigh. Ryleigh has hazel green eyes and golden brown hair just like Madison, as well has 2 freckles like Madison. She loves her Ryleigh doll. Happy Birthday sweetheart! Mommy, Daddy, and Isabella love you!

Splash Day/ Last Day of Pre-school

Yesterday was the last day of Pre-school for this year. I was sad, but Madison was way happy! Her school has Splash Day on the last day of school every year, and she was able to play in the water and with the water toys. She is so afraid of water in her eyes that she wouldn't even try the giant blow-up water slides that they had set up. But she still had fun. Her class sang Happy Birthday to her and they had cupcakes. After school was over we took Madison and Isabella to the YMCA pool and Isabella is a natural. She loves to play in the water. She does not like to be in the baby float, she wants to kick her legs and arms in the water. Madison got brave and finally let go of Daddy's hands while she had her life jacket on. Yesterday was really the beginning of Summer. We had a wonderful day together and enjoyed all the sun and water. Here are a few pictures.

Tutoring and Gymnastics

So this week was an eventful week. We had a lot of last days. Monday was our last scheduled dance class for ballet, but we still have 2 tech rehearsals and 1 dress rehearsal before our recital on June 7th. Then Wednesday was our end of year ceremony for Madison's private tutoring at The Rountree Learning Center. Ms. Wendy has been great with helping Madison to learn to read and write. Madison received a trophy and certificate of completion for Pre-K 3 with Ms. Wendy. And she got to show off her reading skills by reading a beginners book, I Can Run, to me. Way to go Madison!!! Today was our last day of Gymnastics this school year. And although its been a challenge with keeping her focused she did well overall. She does NOT like the uneven bars, but she likes to hang on them. Go figure. She had a Medal Ceremony today and received her GOLD medal for completing the school year. Next week is our last week of school and then its Summertime. Madison turns 4 on May 30th, Isabella turns 1 on June 16th and I have a birthday on June 3rd. So we will be having a lot of birthday cake this month. I have to schedule Madison's 4 year old Doctor exam and she will be getting 4 big shots. Pray for her that she won't be too scared. Isabella will also be getting MORE shots in June. So I will have some CRANKY kiddos for a little while. I'm posting some pictures from this past week. Enjoy!

Pre-Summer Update!

Okay, so the school year is coming to an end which means lots of fun summer activities. We hope so anyway. Just want to let everyone know that Madison's Dance Recital will be June 7th at Kingwood High School Auditorium. Showtime starts at 10am but her performance is in Act 2 or the 17th group to perform. The title is The Captain's Daughter and they will be performing to Steven Curtis Chapman's Cinderella. She is getting excited about being all dressed up for the performance but this is also her very 1st performance so I'm not sure if she will do well. She tries, but she has a hard time staying focused. She will be receiving her medal for Gymnastics on Thursday. And she just finished up Soccer at the beginning of the month, so she also received a Bobble Head Soccer Trophy for participation. Her official last day of school is May 29th. We have Swim lessons planned and Vacation bible school scheduled as well as Art Camp in August, so we are ready for summer. We plan on going to visit Granny in June and Mimi in July. Then in September we are off to Flordia. Madison choose to go to the Beach this year for vacation so that will be interesting with a 1 year old. Madison has NEVER been to the beach before, this should be fun. Okay, I did it. I finally figured out how to link an audio file to our blog!!! Hope you enjoy!!! Love you all. The Shaw Family.

I have CURLZ!!

Okay, so when a woman is pregnant her body undergoes a lot of changes. But NEVER ever did I think this would happen. All my life I have had super straight hair. It's been really thick and I have never liked it, but NEVER have I had curls or waves. Well, I take that back. In 8th grade I really wanted a perm b/c I wanted curls, and my mom kept telling me NO!! She finally gave in and I really should have listened to her, because that was the worst hair I had ever had. It basically looked like a white girl wearing an AFRO!!!! Honest. So back to present. I cut my hair a week ago and low and behold, I have curls. Yeap. They are NATURAL and I'm not sure if I like them. But they are there and they are not ever going to leave. After Madison I had one little patch that was unmanageable waves, but after Isabella I now have a whole head full of curls/waves. I'm attaching a few pictures, but they are not very clear. I'm sure you will see them one of these days. Just had to tell everyone about how things can change without expecting them.

Isabella's Pink Poodle

Most of you know that I've redone Isabella's bedroom. It is now Pink poodle themed. I purchased a rocking Pink Poodle for her room and she is still too small to ride on it, but she loves it. She plays with it every chance she gets. I took a few pictures to that you can see how much she has grown. And yes, that is 5 teeth in her little mouth with another on the way! She has been teething non-stop for since February. But she has also been really great about not fussing with them hurting her. She sleeps throughout the night from 7:30pm until 8am and is always happy, except when hungry. I've been blessed with Isabella b/c she is so different from Madison. I think God knew I wouldn't be able to handle another Madison. She is just too strong-willed and stubborn. But she is smart so maybe someday she will be someone important, like a CEO or something. She says she wants to be a pony doctor and she has said this for nearly 2 years now. Well, here are some pictures of Isabella and her pink poodle. Enjoy!

Jasper Rodeo!!!!

So this week is the Jasper Lions club Rodeo and my uncle happened to be one of the performers. Jeremy took Madison and they also went with his brother Josh and cousin Kinzi. The girls loved watching the big GIRLS do barrel racing. That was their favorite event. Thay also loved the bull riding and rodeo clowns. They each had a huge bag of PINK cotton candy too. They ended the night with a performance by Eddy Raven and danced their little hearts out. The girls had a blast. Oh, lets not forget the special cowgirl hats they had to have. Here are a few pictures.
