Madison Reads 2 books

Here are 2 videos of Madison taken this evening of her reading 2 short books. For her this is a really really big deal. I am so proud of her. She is also learning to read with the help of a awesome program called Headsprout. I used this program when I was teaching in the New Caney school system and tutoring kids unable to read. I was able to watch a 2nd grade NON-English speaking child go from NON-English reading to Reading English in about 6 months. Pretty Awesome! Madison started this program on Sunday and is on Lesson 7 now. She LOVES the program. Here are the videos:

Madison Reads her Letters/Letter Sounds/Sight Words

Made this video to let the teacher and principal know that Madison is capable of reading her sight words and that she knows her letters and letter sounds. She is a stubborn kid and gets bored, so yes, I may sound a bit mean at times, but I have to push her b/c I know my child and I know what she is capable of and I also know how much she as learned in the first 5 years of her life. Here she is: Madison Shaw Reading

Testing NEW Conversion Software, Hows the Video!?!?!

This is the SAME video I posted below several days ago. What do you think? Quality, sound, overall, do you think its better? I do! Can't wait to get all my DVDs copied and converted and loaded on the Blog so all our family and friends far away can see our babies!! The new Videos will NOT have the watermark image of Evaluation Copy. That is only b/c I downloaded a TRIAL version of the software and after we purchase it the watermark will be removed. I'm so EXCITED about this as I have wanted to share some special memories with all of you for such a long time. Madison's first steps, Xmas programs from Preschool, and just fun stuff.

Madison's Bus Ride Video

Well, I'm bummed.... My video of Madison's 1st Bus Ride file is corrupt and unable to remove from disk. I've LOST my precious file. The excitement and amazement of that first experience will forever be burned in my memory, however, I will be unable to share the video with you. Only the experience in words. As the bus pulled toward the house I could see Madison's little face and hands pressed against the window looking out at me. She had the biggest smile I had ever seen. Waving and waving at me. The bus stopped and she continues to sit and wave. I start laughing b/c I know that she needs to get moving and head to the door. So she is so tiny compared to the giant steps she must go down. As she holds on to the rail with both hands she slowly steps down. And as soon as she touches the driveway with her feet, she turns around and waves really big to her bus driver, Mr. Ted. "Bye!" she tells him. Then she watches in amazement as the bus pulls away down the street. She turns around and I ask her, "So did you like riding the bus?" and her response, "Yes, I want to ride the bus again tomorrow! and It goes really fast!" Well, I don't know that I like the fact that it goes really fast. But I told her as long as I do not have to pick Izzy up from school she can ride the bus home. So I being a Mom and wanting to have my girls on video to share with friends and family had to video the 2nd bus ride so everyone can see. This time I had Izzy in my arms so a steady hand is not so on this clip. Enjoy! I just love watching these experiences again and again. They never get old to me.

Madison's First Bus Ride

Ok, so yesterday was the 2nd day of Kindergarten. Much more fun and exciting things to be learned. You would think that after spending ALL day away from home she would be happy to see me. But, when I picked her up from school yesterday, Madison was in tears. She was crying and very very upset. I asked her what happened and she said,"I wanted to ride the bus home Mommy and my teacher wouldn't let me." Well, actually, Ms. San Marco was doing exactly what I had asked her to do. Holding her with the group of car riders b/c I was planning on picking her up all week from school. That changed today. Today was Madison's FIRST ever School Bus ride. She was SO very excited to go to school today b/c she knew at the end of the day she would be riding the bus home. So I had to capture this on video, her amazed and happy little face as she carefully stepped down the steps of the big bus. Here is the video, and YES, we get FRONT DOOR service with our bus stop!

I'm having difficulties with my camera, I hope I didn't corrupt the video file!!! Very upset right now!!!

Madison's First Day of School in Kindergarten

This first photo is from Meet the Teacher day at Greentree Gatorfest. Madison is wearing a blue shirt on the right hand side of photo. Her teacher, Ms. San Marcos, is on left wearing a Green Greentree shirt. These are all her classmates too.

These are first day of school photos. My camera is messed up and I don't know what happened to the settings b/c the photos seem really blurry. Not to happy about that.

Here she is hugging Alli the Alligator! She is now a Greentree Gator!!

Madison is OFFICIALLY a Kindergarten student at Greentree Elementary in Humble ISD. It is an AWESOME school, rated EXEMPLARY multiple times. The PTA is super organized, the Teaching staff is well trained and Madison LOVES her new school. She also LOVES her new teacher, Ms. San Marcos. Here are a few photos/videos of her special moments on this BIG day.

Old Home Video

So I've been trying for a really LONG time to figure out how to post old home video from my camcorder to my blog. Well, this is my attempt to get it on here. I sure hope it works. These are video clips of Madison from 2005. She is only a year and a half old in these clips. Sorry about the quality. But at least you can view them and I'm able to share them.

Girls Night Out-Janet, Wendy, Letty, and Tanya

This is for my girl friends mostly so they have access to the few Video clips I recorded at our NKOTB concert.  We had an absolute BLAST!  It was so much fun.  I got bumped around a lot on the Jordan Knight clips b/c he was right behind us and everyone came running up.  Security was right in front of me and I was being pushed into them, it was crazy!  Favorite part of the night was when they dropped the confetti on us and the beach balls from the roof.  The pyro and lights were amazing.  They really know how to put on a theatrical performance.

Madison's 2008 Dance Recital

Isabella Shaw 2nd Birthday

Madison Shaw 5th Birthday

This is the video purchased from the actual recital last year.  Madison is second from left on back row.  She ends the show facing the back of stage while she bumps bottoms with another little girl.  Well, at least the other girl didn't cry on stage b/c of it.  Madison did a major improvement this year over last year.  Enjoy.

Oh yeah, on the dress rehearsal video below, at the end Ms. Christi is placing them in their spots.  The youngest little girl gets bored and starts singing the song, "La la la la laaaa" its really cute.  You might have to turn the volume up to hear it.

And!!! Madison told me this year,"MOM!, Ms. Christi didn't have to call my name out this year b/c I was obeying!!"  Yeah!!!  It was a REALLY BIG DEAL to her that she was obeying this year!!!! Unbelievable that she got so excited about this.  But, she made me PROUD!!!  I will post the Professional video of this years performance when I get the DVD.  I will also include Ellie's ballet and jazz routine so that she can see it on the internet too and share with her family if she wants.

FULL DRESS Rehearsal for Tomorrow's Recital

Madison is the girl with the Purple flower pot in center of screen.  She did GREAT this year!!  I'm so very proud of her.  She wanted to good so that everyone could see her.  Especially, Granny, Pappy Dude, Mimi, and Paw-paw she said.  So this is for you!  Recital is at Kingwood High School and Curtain time is 10:30am.  Cost is $5/person if you'd like to go see her perform.  She is in the Morning show and is the 3rd group to perform.  Yay!!! I don't have to sit and wait forever since Izzy will be home with a sitter and Jeremy will be working.  Yeap! Jeremy is working.  Oh well.

Madison's Dance Recital

We have FULL DRESS rehearsal today so I'll be posting video later this evening.  Keep a look out!  Our LAST big event of the school year then it will be OFFICIALLY SUMMER!!! Yay!!!  So looking forward to our Colorado Vacation.  We leave June 13th!!!

Posting older video clips

Jeremy finally converted all my video clip files so now I can share them with ALL of YOU!!!!  I'm going to post Izzy's first steps and another where Izzy has my iPhone and is dancing.

Here is a video clip from Fall Festival 2007 at church.  Madison is with her friends, Madison Boone, Anna Claire, and Rhett Parrish.  She really misses Rhett (dressed as Diego) since he has moved away from Kingwood.  But they are so cute dancing together!

And here is one of Madison playing in the ocean with a  little girl she met at the hotel in Florida September 2008, DURING IKE!!!  We were relaxing and enjoying ourselves while Texas was taking a beating from IKE.

Preschool Graduation Slide Show

We had to break the slide show into 2 parts in order to upload to blog site.  They are titled with Part 1 and Part 2.  Enjoy!!!
Part 2

Part 1

Graduation Day

The reason there is a split between the video clips here is because I was sitting right in front of Carson Parker and was trying to get her attention to get up and go collect her diploma.  Instead, Mrs. Brock walked over to her and handed it to her while she stayed in her seat in a daze!!!  Too funny.  Carson is one of Madison's best friends in class and I couldn't help but laugh.  Sorry Carson!!!  Notice how Linnea, the girl at far right, helps Madison with her graduation cap at the end of ceremony.  Its SO SO sweet!!!

Truck Accident

Okay, so I'm feeling really really frustrated.  I know that some people are really forgetful by nature, but an elderly lady hit my truck this afternoon.  I was in the inside main lane going straight and she was in a turning lane on my left.  I was continuing to go straight and she just barrels into the rear quarter panel of my truck b/c she didn't want to turn LEFT (which is the lane she was in) she wanted to go straight.  Well, Hello!!! Don't you think you should WAIT YOUR TURN!!!!  She still doesn't think she was in the wrong and argued with 2 Houston City Police Officers AND a Harris County Constable.  I just stood back and watched her.  When they told her to be quiet I told my side.  Which corresponded to the Witness that was directly behind me!!!  She still thinks she is RIGHT!!!  Well, ALL the officers told her that she should have YIELDED to ME and waited her turn.  And she says otherwise.  The witness originally just gave us his business card, but when she started to argue with BOTH of us AND the OFFICER, he looked at me and said, "I think I should stay to give a statement and talk to the Constable since this is obvious she doesn't want to admit she is wrong."  I said, "Thank you" several times.  OH, did I mention she FORGOT whether or not she paid her auto insurance and had an expired insurance card with her? So she got a ticket for that.  "I've never gotten a ticket before" she told the officer.  Then she comes to me and asks, "Did you see where I put my cell phone?"  Hello???  Am I supposed to keep track of your stuff?  I told her, "I saw you go to your car with it." Which was true.  She proceeded to tell me about her family during the HOUR we waited for the Constable to arrive, I just wanted to walk off and drive away.  How can you argue that its MY fault then want to discuss family and life with me?  I don't understand.  I think she is lonely b/c I did learn she is a widow with 2 dogs and her family is in Austin.  But hey, her family needs to check in on her.  She needs some help b/c all she kept saying was, "I don't remember seeing your truck in front of me, if I had I would have stopped"  Well, it was, and You hit it.  I was on my way home from school with both the kids and THANKFULLY I have Videos in my truck, b/c they were still wanting out of their car seats.  Yeah right, in a busy street. This happened on West Lake Houston in front of Double Dave's Pizza, you know the spot if you live here and drive here.  There are SO SO SO many accidents there.  I'm just so very thankful it wasn't serious and that no one was injured.  Its just a truck, its just an object, its just material.  Life is so much more important and precious.  Thank you Lord for looking out for us this afternoon!

Madison singing "Turn it Over to Jesus" song. Madison is the loudest one when the girls are singing! Listen for her.

Here is a clip of Madison and Isabella at the Wedding reception. Now, this is AFTER she has been on the dance floor for nearly 2 hours, and you can hear my cousin Corey in the background calling Madison "The ENERGIZER bunny"!!!! Yeah, that's her alright. AND that's EVERYDAY!!!! Not just for weddings.

Here is a clip of Isabella and her cousin Lily dancing. Lily is just a few months older than Izzy.

Happy BE-Lated New Year!!!

Hello to all our friends and family. I know, its been a while since I've posted. I'm sorry. Life gets busy with holidays and extracurricular activities. NOT to mention we were out of town for my sister's wedding. We had a wonderful Christmas, minus the fact that we spent 4 hours in the Emergency Room with Madison b/c her right eye swoll shut. Yeah, it was scary. She was a flower girl in my sister's wedding which was 2 days AFTER Christmas and Madison was sick. The good Doctor gave us 3 antibiotics!!! 3!!! She had an EAR infection and EYE infection. It was really nice to be with my family this Christmas. Madison and I were both in my sister's wedding I will post some photos. We also had our annual NEHBC Preschool Christmas performance and I will post video to that too. We have a few things planned for this spring. Jeremy and I will be celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary, the girls will have another birthday and we are going back to Colorado this summer. We hope you are having a GREAT 2009 thus far and we will continue to post as time permits. Enjoy!!! We love you all!!!
